North Carolina's Outer Banks, the American West, and the Hawaiian
Islands. His photo contest entries have earned him either first place or
grand prize recognition in Hawaii Magazine's photo contests in 1999,
2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003, and his poster of the interior of the
Currituck Beach Lighthouse was chosen for display in Washington, DC's
Corcoran Gallery of Art.
Scott Hanft was born in Sonora, California in 1963. He graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in 1988 with a degree in fine art photography, after which he moved to Kaua`i to work as a boat captain for Na Pali Adventures.
